Preserving simulation results

Do I need to build a new pair of a network & scenario for each modification to a network (for my model scenarios) in order to preserve results?

Hi @jimhSAIntencoord,

Great question! This would be my top recommendation for preserving scenario inputs and results together.

You could, of course, export your inputs and results if you prefer to manage them in file formats that do not require the SAInt GUI for viewing and interacting with them. However, that puts more burden on you, the user, should you choose to do things that way.

To this question, is there any possibility, in SAInt, to download timeseries from a scenario simulation result?

Hi @erbid, welcome to the forum and thanks for the great question!

There are in fact a few ways to download timeseries data from a scenario result.

  • For one off exports in the GUI, you can right click on any chart and copy the timeseries data directly, or generate new profiles within the current scenario, among a few other options.

  • For programmatic solutions to exporting results to an external file (i.e Excel), there is a nice description of this process here: Export the Results to an External File :: SAInt | Docs

Please note that there have been some recent improvements including the wildcard operator (%), which allow a simpler formulation of the results description file. You can find a nice dialog on this process here - Viewing Annual Results by Generator - General - SAInt User Forum.

Happy Modeling!
