How to Delete Scenarios no longer needed

How do you delete scenarios that you no longer need or want?

I would consider two options to remove unwanted scenarios from my project folder.

OPTION 1: In SAInt GUI, use the “Project Explorer” and select the scenario to be removed from the list of available scenarios under the entry “Scenario Files”. Right-click, and from the context menu, choose “Delete File”. This option is available in the context menu only if the scenario is inactive (i.e., its name is not with bold characters).

This option works great if you need to remove one or two scenarios. Because SAInt does not allow you to select more than one scenario at a time.

And pay attention because there is no “undo” option!

Also, if you have solved the scenario, deleting it does not delete the associated solution, either. You must delete the corresponding file under “State Files” and “Solution Files.”

OPTION 2: Use “File Explorer” and, in the project folder, remove all scenarios you do not want anymore. For electric-related scenarios, delete files ending with *.esce (for gas ending with *.gsce, or for thermal in *.tsce), .esol (.gsol or *.tsol), and .econ (.gcon or *.tcon).

Happy SAInt simulation!

Thank you. I think my request did not use the correct language. I want to remove a specific scenario that is attached to an External. I can click to make it active or not active but how to a remove it completely from that particular External?

I do see your objective now. The steps are:

  1. Load the scenario with the events you need to remove.
  2. Open the “Scenario Table”, by clicking on the EEVT button in the Scenario Tab.
  3. Select the row with the event you need to remove from a certain external. The row is highlighted in light blue when selected.
  4. Right-click in one of the cells of the selected row, for example in the cell with the ID or the column “Active”.
  5. From the context menu, select the entry “Delete Event(s)”.

You have now removed the event from the scenario.

Take care :grinning:
